Winter Park Resort has stated that their final day of winter operations will be Saturday, May 21st.

The resort is warning, however, that they might need to close sooner due to warm temps and sun exposure causing rapid snowmelt.

The resort made the announcement in a transparent social media post yesterday afternoon:

“It looks like the time may come sooner than we had hoped. Right now, our last day skiing at Mary Jane is planned for this Saturday, May 21. This week has brought unseasonably warm temperatures and sunny skies making for some amazing spring skiing, but also rapid snowmelt creating challenges to keep the connectivity on our open trails. Our operations teams are working hard to keep us skiing through Saturday. However, given the current weather, we are taking it day by day and may need to close earlier depending on conditions. If that’s the case, we’ll share an update as soon as we know! In the meantime, keep enjoying those Super Gauge laps!”

Cheers to Winter Park on a great season!

I love any resort that keeps lifts spinning as long as possible, and especially those that are transparent about operation plans.
