Can’t Believe They Still Do Mass Start Ski Racing in Austria

It is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to the madness that is the mass start at Der weisse Rausch aka The White Rush. The annual race in St. Anton, Austria opens with 555 skiers and snowboarders lined up side by side before a starter pistol signals the beginning a balls to the wall 1,346 meter vertical descent over a 9km course. Total chaos, fully awesome.
