Not sure if we’ll see this 6-foot skiing robot developed by Shanghai Jiaotong University zipping around the slopes of 2022 Winter Olympics but the creators envision a future where they will help with “patrol and rescue tasks to create a more comfortable and safer ice and snow experience for humans.”
ECNS reports during tests the robot skied along a 400-meter intermediate slope track with 18° pitch at a speeds over 22mph. Using intelligent recognition and braking control technologies it safely pass between human skiers through wireless remote human-robot interaction technology.
