Usually these kind of wacky inventions seem a little bit niche to really make an impact on the market, but this winterized bicycle rig from PodRide actually seems pretty cool.
The PodRide is an enclosed E-Bike for cold-weather riding. The rig comes with suspension, an electric heater, headlights, windshield wiper, an electric pedal assist motor, and all-terrain wheels. The vehicles aren’t available for sale, yet. You can read more about the PodRide on their website here.
It seems like these could be a perfect eco-friendly solution for people looking to still ride a bike in cold weather environments. Don’t be surprised if you see these things popping up around mountain town communities and cold cities. There are plenty of people that would prefer to not drive a car in the winter, but also don’t want to freeze to death on their bikes.
