Looking for a cheap option in Summit County this winter? If you’re looking for a luxury hostel option, consider checking out The Pad. Business Insider reports the new property offers a multitude of options for different types of travelers. The hostel room option starts at $50, while the private rooms come out to $350 a night. Some of the room types include the shared dorm room, micro room(private bedroom but shared bathroom), micro room and bath(both private), family room(queen and bunk bed), private room, deluxe private room, and the container room. A few of the nearest ski resorts include Copper Mountain (fourteen minutes), Keystone (fifteen minutes), Loveland Ski Area (eighteen minutes), Arapahoe Basin (twenty minutes), and Breckenridge (twenty-four minutes).

According to Interesting Engineering, the new property was built from eighteen recycled shipping containers. Shipping containers have become a popular option for architects due to their ability to handle different climates and weather patterns. Another pro of reusing them is “repurposing them helps reduce the need for further mining the earth for additional metals.” Shipping containers are becoming a popular building option, with such uses being pools and tiny homes. One stadium for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar is even built out of shipping containers.

A-Bar, which just opened this week, is the area’s first roof side and riverside bar that also features a fire pit. The bar features twenty-six drafts, and Summit County’s first draught craft cocktail program. Graze and Torreys is the other restaurant and will open in 2022. The restaurant aims at being a sustainable option that will source all its food from within two hundred miles of the eatery. Click here to learn more about The Pad.
