Ski Area Reporting 24-26″ Of New Snow In… South Dakota?

View from Terry Peak’s Summit webcam on 10/14/21 at 1:20 PM CT

Well hot damn. Who would have thought that Terry Peak, South Dakota would be the big winner from the recent storm that dumped snow across the Rockies?

The resort announced on social media today that the mountain saw 24-26″ fall on the mountain! That’s more than pretty much everybody in Utah, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming. Unreal.

Terry Peak is the technically the largest ski resort in the Midwest with a 1,100′ vertical. The resort is also on the Indy Pass. Might have to take mine out there this winter if it keeps snowing like this!

Terry Peak normally opens to the public on the first weekend in December, conditions permitting. Wonder if there’s any chance they get the lifts spinning earlier thanks to that 24″ of snow covering the mountain…
