Scarborough Bluffs – By: Laslovarga

Hmm… so let me get this straight. The internet is exploding in rejoice about a TikTok of a police officer in Toronto issuing $5,000 tickets to people who deliberately ignored warning signs and trespassed on a protected cliff face… that checks out!

It’s 2021 and rules simply don’t apply to influencers. I mean, does this officer even realize how much each one of these people’s followings matter? He wrote tickets for 20 people, but he actually wrote tickets for all of their followers too.

Their brand is what matters most, and he ruined their chance for 500 likes on Instagram because he was trying to keep them and the environment safe.

What a disgrace.

Okay, in all seriousness, I’m very happy that these rule-breakers got what was coming to them. A quick Google search on Scarborough Bluffs will show that many people have required rescue assistance from the bluffs over the years.

The Canadian government placed fences and signs to protect people, and to alleviate the need for rescue teams to constantly be responding to calls there. I would feel bad for them if they legitimately didn’t know what they were doing was wrong, but there are clearly signs plastered all over that fence.

They knew what they were doing was wrong, but they took the risk anyways.

I hope those $5,000 fines taught them a lesson…
