The fact that ski jumpers keep jumping all year long thanks to modern technology is pretty incredible. Watching one of their POVs as they send a huge jump is even more incredible.
I sometimes wonder what the ski jumping men and women of yesteryear would think of today’s athletes. The technique of using wide skis and spreading their legs out to essentially fly hasn’t been around forever.
I imagine some hillbilly ski jumper from the 1920s would think modern ski jumpers are practicing some form of witchcraft with how far they fly through the air. Hell, I still question if there’s some kind of funny business going on outside the laws of physics…
Anybody think ski jumping should be added to the summer Olympics? Would be kind of cool to see that happen someday.
