The monsoon season has been very active this year in parts of the American southwest, which is causing large flash floods and lots of damage.
Reed Timmer managed to capture a significant flash flood flowing near Bitter Springs, in northern Arizona, using a drone and some excellent timing. You can really see the power of the rushing waters as it fills the dry spillway and inches closer to a nearby road.
This flash flood feels less scary because it’s filling a wide open, mostly flat area, but don’t be mistaken. That’s a lot of water moving very fast. I hope the drone pilot was standing on some high ground at a safe distance.
