Tragic news out of California whereYosemite National Park officials have confirmed world-renowned endurance athlete, Fred Zalokar, has been found dead near the Mount Clark summit.

News Week reports Zalokar had set off on a day hike on Saturday from Happy Isles to the summit of Mount Clark using an off-trail route from Bunnell Point. The alert went out when he did not make his scheduled return to Yosemite Valley.

The incident  remains under investigation. Our condolences to his family and friends.
