VIDEO: Child Dangles 2-Minutes Before Falling From New Zealand Chairlift

Ski patrollers at Mt. Hutt in New Zealand pulled off an impressive rescue last week, as they caught a child that fell from a chairlift. Stuff reports that the accident occurred on Mt. Hutt’s new Nor’west Express, an eight-person detachable chairlift by Leitner-Poma that just opened a month ago. The safety bar didn’t fully keep the child gripped in between the individual’s legs, leading to the kid slipping and hanging on to the chair for dear life for two minutes. Ski patrollers and onlookers raced to the scene, and quickly put up a makeshift landing made up of nets and padding. When the skier fell, the landing was awkward, but the padded support prevented the child from sustaining any injuries. Shoutout to the ski patrollers and bystanders at Mt. Hutt for saving the kid from serious injuries!
