The Bear Fire burning in Carbon County has grown to 5,300 acres prompting the closure of US-6 near Bear Canyon. KTUV reports the highway is closed in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area and consult UDOT for updated information on the closure and alternate routes. An investigation has determined that the fire was started by lightning. Currently, there is no containment reported with the fire and fire crews are concerned about high winds expected in the area Thursday. We send our best wishes to all the brave firefighters and personal charged with control this thing.
