The Southwest needs rain, and lots of it.

CBS This Morning visited Lake Mead to see how the drought is effecting the millions of people that rely on the Colorado River for water, and it isn’t looking pretty.

Lake Mead is only at 37% capacity, and is nearing an all-time low.

The federal government is considering a Water Shortage Declaration for the Colorado River which will limit the water distributed to farms in the region.

If the drought continues, water could be limited for residential use as well.
