Freeride World Tour Competitor Craig Murray Competing in IRONMAN 70.3 Race in Taupō

“I think there’s a lot of aspects that I’ll draw from the past events that I’ve done. I’m really lucky to have that endurance, multisport and adventure sport background because it definitely helps with the mental preparation and toughness aspects of the race.”

If you’ve ever seen 22-year-old Kiwi freerider Craig Murray ski, you know the kid’s got massive cojones and it should come as no great surprise he’s game to step out of his comfort zone and into the world of endurance racing on a whim. Originally he signed up for the race 9 days out and described his training plan as “the angle of doom” but postponements have allowed him additional prep time. Murray has found himself at the top of the podium at multiple FWT events and hopes his experience will help him out on course at the Ironman 70.3 Race 2021 in Taupō.  Craig is competing not only for the challenge of it all but to raise money for the charity Boys Alive.
