Sundance Resort was sold by Robert Redford just a few months ago, and the new owners are wasting no time in making renovations to the historic resort.

The new ownership group released an improvement plan for the ’21-’22 season that includes: two new chairlifts, more parking, enhanced snowmaking, and Creekside building renovations.

A new Doppelmayr detachable high-speed quad will replace Rays lift, and will ferry skiers to the Mandan Summit in just 7 minutes. There will also be a new fixed-grip quad return lift on the backside of Mandan.

The resort plans to add 125-150 additional parking spots, and will create a snowmaking reservoir to allow for more snowmaking guns across the resort.

The highlight of these renovations is clearly the new high-speed lift that will replace Rays. It will cut the lift ride time from 20 to just 7 minutes, according to Lift Blog.

Sundance plans to have the new lifts installed for the beginning of the 2021-2022 winter season.
