An interesting bit of Colorado ski history involving some enterprising residents of Douglas Valley who tried to build a rope tow on Air Force Academy grounds in the 1960’s. They constructed a platform for the upper terminal and even started clearing runs but abandoned the project a year in for various reasons. Evidence of this Colorado Springs ski hill that never was still stands overlooking the valley.
