Shaun White bailed on X Games 2021 after tweaking his knee during a practice run but he did sit down with Jack Mitrani to answer a few questions including staying motivated in his mid-thirties (makiong him the oldest competitor at most events). It all comes down to that word competitor, some people can sleep peacefully at night coming in second place and some people toss, turn and howl at the moon. You can guess which camp White is in.
