New Chinese Ski Resorts Skyrocket Ahead of 2020 Olympics

A decade ago there were just over 200 ski resorts in China, at the end of 2019, that number had skyrocketed to 770. RTL Today reports the mega upsurge of shred spots in the world’s most populous nation can be attributed to China’s declaration to get 10% of nationals (1.4 billion) on skis ahead of the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. TBD how the national initiative translates to the podium but we are happy that a significant portion of the world’s population has access to the sport we love.
