Yellowstone Geyser Dormant For 6.5 Years Roars Back To Life

Famous for its “infrequent but violent” eruptions, Giantess Geyser in Yellowstone was known to erupt between 2 to 6 times a year before it went dormant 6.5 years ago. That all changed on Tuesday, August 25th, when a live stream camera captured it’s triumphant return launching several bursts of water between 100-200 ft in the air.  If you were just a casual tourist on Tuesday in Yellowstone, you might have missed the significance, but you know there were a few hydrogeologists on site fist pumping and chest bumping.
