Sometimes it takes an expert to analyze avalanche scenes to properly determine their cause and sometimes its as clear as day to a casual observer. Such is the case in this slide that happened on January 19th on an alpine southeast-facing slope near Crested Butte called Red Lady Bowl. A skier was caught, carried, and thankfully uninjured in this close call. Stay safe out there folks.
