Back in 2015, Marcel Hirscher was taking his 2nd Slalom run at Madonna di Campiglio, Italy when a drone fell from the sky nearly hitting the skier mid-run. The defending World Cup champion was lucky to escape when a remote-controlled drone with a mounted camera slammed down on the piste inches behind him.
“This is horrible,” Hirscher said after the event. “This can never happen again. This can be a serious injury.”
