You know you’re living in a badass part of the country when the county sheriff has a full-on snowcat at their disposal. Hurricane-force winds during a snowstorm in Park County last week left motorists stranded in a perilous position but the JeffCo sheriff deputies a blaze orange snow beast laying in wait for just such a situation.

While it’s nice to know that this type of machine exists to save your ass in a winter emergency, its best to stay off the roads in conditions like last week. Word to the wise, we are all guilty of pushing through terrible weather in the name of skiing but we also have to know when to say enough is enough.
