Former Olympian Endorses Robotic Exoskeleton For Skiing

Elevate is designed to offload weight from quads and knees to enable seasoned skiers to continue to enjoy the sport they love free of discomfort – making possible longer ski days, longer ski vacations—and ultimately a longer skiing career.”

I’ve had my eye on these robotic exoskeletons ever since Roam Robitics announced they were available for pre-order back in March 2018. They still aren’t available for purchase, but they are offering rental options at 9 resorts including Sun Valley, Squaw and Breck. Dialy rentals start at $109 but you can do a 2 hour test run for $25. 1972 Winter Olympian Hank Kashiwa has had his fair share of injuries during his long career and fully endorses the technology:

“I’ve had more than 20 surgeries—more than 12 on my knees—so I can really tell when I’m getting support.”
