A Colorado Springs man died after participating in the Spartan Snowmass race on Saturday.  It is suspected he died of cardiac complications while competing in the Spartan Snowmass races.

Kenneth Crochet, 50,  collapsed at around 1 p.m. at the obstacle course racing event. Spartan Race spokesperson Jonathan Fine said that the event’s licensed medical team responded to the incident according to protocol.

Crochet was pronounced dead at 1:56 p.m. at Aspen Valley Hospital.

According to Crochet’s social media account, he was active with Spartan races, participating in events around the country over the past two years. He also posted after competing in the 2018 Tough Mudder race in Snowmass.
