Yellowstone National Park announced that law enforcement officers will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the park the week of July 8. Park rangers will on the lookout for impaired drivers as well as driver and vehicle safety violations including click it or ticket infractions. Park visitors driving on the more than 450 miles of road within the park should expect a general increased ranger presence.

Friendly reminder that as of 2015 drivers charged with a DUI in Yellowstone face prosecution in federal court and penalties that can include up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine. Long story short…enjoy the parks, don’t drink and drive. images from yellowstonenps IG
