If you thought you were the only one planning to spend the 4th July holiday weekend in Rocky Mountain National Park you were very wrong. RMNP tweeted this afternoon that road in “remains very busy and congested.” Thats a nice way of saying the line of cars to get in the park on U.S. 36 at Beaver Meadows is a over mile long. Rocky Mountain National Park was the third most visited park in the country last year with more than 4.5 million visitors so it stands to reason there would be traffic this weekend but this is crazy.

9News reports there is  no parking is available along Bear Lake Roads and the Wild Basin and even the Alpine Visitor parking lot is full. If you want to ditch your car and get in a bit faster you can take the bus into the park instead. Lets hope you’re not reading this in gridlock but if you are perhaps cut your losses and reroute to take the bus.
