A few seasons back we had the opportunity to spend some time in Valdez, Alaska with legendary ski guide Jerry Hence. Jerry was one of the pioneers of helicopter skiing in the remote Alaska wilderness. Over the decades Jerry has accumulated hundreds of first descents. With perfect conditions and favorable weather he was able to opened a whole world of possibilities you only dream of. This was prime time helicopter skiing in the hart of the Chugach Mountains of Coastal Alaska.

“Jerry first got into this business in 1992 by going up to Valdez Alaska one of the first years they had heli-skiing. He was the first person to start carrying a rope for the glacier travel. After a week of Heliskiing, the owner of the Tsaina Lodge, asked Jerry to guide his next clients, who were the movie crew for Warren Miller. From then on, Jerry started his own heli-skiing business and he now operates in Alaska and Chile.” – jerrysheliskialaska.com
