The landscaping hasn’t even grown in yet but Jesper Tjäder somehow got the keys CopenHill and gave it a test run before it opens to the public. The artificial slope is located on the roof a waste-to-energy power plant in Copenhagen, Denmark. We first reported on the project back in 2014 and are pleased with the results. The construction stands at the intersection of urban planning, sustainability and recreation and has started a trend with 5 more rooftop ski slope buildings going up around the world:

“Copenhagen wants to be carbon neutral by 2025. An ambitious aim which the Danish capital, with its leading role in sustainable urban development, is resolutely pursuing. With a waste-to-energy plant which supplies energy and is also a local recreational area with an artificial ski slope within the urban environment, Copenhagen’s journey towards climate neutrality continues.”
