“I’m also a snowboarder who goes snowboarding almost every year in the Alps. I founded RideOn in 2014 to bring the same experience a fighter pilot has in the cockpit to the slopes.”

Former Israeli Air Force pilot Alon Getz’s newest creation is called the Mohawk and the high-tech augmented reality ski helmet has all the bells and whistles. The RideOn Mohawk projects images on the visor for hands free operation.

The helmet includes a GPS, a speedometer, the ability to communicate with friends elsewhere on the slopes, a heartbeat monitor, earphones, a microphone and a 4K camera (also an emergency button which will directly alert the nearest rescuers).

The helmet is currently available for testing at the Schladming-Dachstein ski resort in the Austrian state of Styria where anyone can test the helmet for free for half an hour, or rent it for an entire day for just 20 EUR  (only 20 Mohawk helmets are available). Getz plans on selling them worldwide but not timeline is specified.
