Even if you’re not a skateboarding connoisseur this feature length documentary about Daewon Song’s 30 year career from the infancy of the super tech brand of skating that he has perfected to harnessing the power of social media later in life is an entertaining watch. Born in Korea in 1975 Daewon immigrated to Gardena, California at 5 years old and first picked up a skateboard at age 14.

Rodney Mullen saw him doing simple tricks on a modest curb in LA and immediately saw the poise and agility of skaterboarder that had a serious future in front of him and opened the door for Daewon to world of professional skating.

He quickly rose through the ranks of street skaters and went on to define the genre with his unique approach and was in on the ground level of several successful companies. Dude has lived and lives the American Dream. Excellent skater, excellent man:
