“I consider myself beyond lucky and wouldn’t recommend climbing new routes without practice or ropes to anyone.”

Incredibly 26 year old Kyle Walker is already out of the hospital after free falling 60ft off the 2nd Flatiron in Boulder, Colorado on April 16th. Walker broke both wrists and his pelvis and had eight busted ribs and a punctured lung.

He was not using ropes at the time but did have a chest mounted GoPro. He claims the fall happened when his toe slipped on a bit of lichen. Kyle laid in agony in and out of consciousness for over an hour before a passing hiker came to his aid and alerted rescuers.

Walker has been taking a lot of criticism on various social platforms for his poor climbing choices and has this message pinned to the top of the original youtube video:

“Lots of people seem to be incredibly angry that I didn’t know exactly what I was doing. This is obvious in the fall. I would however expect nothing less from the climbing purists of this truly wonderful place who seem to be a little too easy to offend for such “extreme”athletes. All snobby comments will be promptly deleted, after they are laughed at of course. Just enjoy the video.”
