Eldora got the go ahead from The U.S. Forest Service on an expansion plan and will be adding 62 acres of skiable terrain in an area known as the Jolly Jug. The Daily Camera reports the project will include five new ski trails on Roosevelt National Forest land as well as gladed areas for tree skiing.  The resort also plans to install a four or six-person high-speed lift and improve snow-making operations.

You may remember Eldora scrapped plans for improvements on its north side because of concerns they could damage a watershed and a critical wildlife migration corridor. They have not yet announced when the new lift will be installed.images from Eldora Ski Resort
