Its become known as the “Mid-Town Uniform” and it even has its own Instagram account. The uniform is simple: button down shirt, zip up vest, and slacks but it’s critically important the vest be the high-end outdoorsy type and must branded with your company logo.

CBS reports Patagonia put the kibosh on slapping corporate logos on their vests for companies that don’t align with their mission statement: “We’re in business to save our home planet.”

Binna Kim is a PR executive who represents hedge funds, banking, fintech and wealth management firms, including Morgan Stanley, Citi and more. She recently got turned down attempting to co-brand with a Patagonia reseller and published her rejection on twitter:

Patagonia confirmed with CBS about the change to its corporate program, saying the company “Recently shifted the focus of this program to increase the number of Certified B Corporations, 1% For The Planet members and other mission-driven companies that prioritize the planet.”

Surely this will strengthen some people’s appeal towards the environmentally conscious clothing brand and be a huge turnoff to those who think they’re too judgey and all high and mighty.

What do you think…support the moratorium on co-branded vests for the bros or who care’s Arc’teryx looks better around the conference table?

Here’s a nice little new piece about the vest trend on Wall Street:
