Tragedy struck the small Quebecois ski hill of Mont-Video on Wednesday night as a girl died after jumping from the chairlift shortly before the chair reached its terminus reports The Province.
The girl was just 15 years old. She had been night skiing with a friend prior to the fatal accident. According to sources, the two were hoping to pull off a trick that involved jumping from the chair directly onto the ski slope. After the first skier made the jump, the victim leapt and landed on a snow covered rock.

She was transported to a regional hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The ski area was closed on Thursday following the incident.
