October was a crazy month in the Canadian Rockies. The upper elevations surrounding Banff got crushed with storm after storm and now all three of the Banff ski areas will open this Friday!

Rumor’s were swirling as to whether or not Lake Louise would pull a fast one and open on Thursday, a day earlier than their friendly rival, Sunshine Village. Turns out it’ll have to go down as a three-way tie as Mt Norquay just announced that they too will be opening.

So far, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise are sporting the best coverage for opening day on Friday. Conditions should be mostly clear with the exception of some scattered snow showers on Friday evening. That said, expect leftovers hanging about and unreal snow levels for so early in the season.

LET IT SNOW!
