Taos is joining the Ikon Pass. Which means that in the past two days, Alterra added three prime-time destinations to its already stacked roster. 7 days await at the New Mexico gem for all Ikon Pass holders and 5 days for those with the Ikon Base Pass (*includes 10 blackout dates).

Over the past half decade the resort saw towering improvements across the board. A new hotel and a Kachina lift were the two headliners made possible by the addition of capital from new owner and conservationist Louis Bacon. Bacon purchased the TSV back in 2013 from the Blake family, who founded the ski area in 1955.

“Taos has long been recognized as one of the iconic mountains of North America, is undergoing a major revitalization, and is the world’s first certified ski resort B-Corporation. As such, our mountain culture and environmental ethos align perfectly with the Ikon Pass community. Taos is honored to have been selected as an Ikon Pass partner.”

Taos is easily one of the best mountains in North America when they have snow. Their steeps are not to be taken lightly and on a good day, Taos can serve up some of the best skiing in North America.
