Vail Resorts To Buy Stevens Pass Ski Area

Vail Resorts has announced the purchase of Stevens Pass in Washington State. The news comes as Vail Resorts also announced the purchase of Crested Butte, Okemo, and Mount Sunapee

In a statement Vail Resorts said, “Stevens Pass gives the company two resorts in the Pacific Northwest after the 2016 acquistion of Whistler-Blackcomb, British Columbia.”

The statement went on to praise the vibrant PNW winter sports market: “Stevens is a remarkable 1,200-acre ski area near Seattle with great terrain and night skiing. In the 90s it offered uncrowded skiing between day and night skiing that was perfect for the 82-mile trip up from the city.”
