Vail Daily is reporting that a 31-year-old Linnea Marlene Hayda, of Vail, has been arrested in connection to a March incident in which she was found with her wrists ziptied in front of her in a dumpster.

She is being charged with multiple felonies following a police investigation of more than 200 hours that found her story to be “fictitious.”

Hayda was found around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday March 27, near an apartment a court protection order made it illegal for her to be in the vicinity of.

The incident occurred three days before a custody hearing in District Court involving her children.

She claimed that she was abducted on Monday March 26th after getting off work by a person who told her she woulds not see her children again.

During an interview, Hayda said she did not remember anything until she was found in the dumpster the next morning.

“Vail detectives concluded that an account provided by Hayda, which led police to issue an alert to the community asking about suspicious activity, proved to be fictitious,” Vail Police said following Thursday’s arrest.
