Montana Ski Area, Bear Paw Ski Bowl, is taken advantage of a strong winter to open for the first time in three years. The local ski hill has been unable to open the past two season due to low snow levels.

Manager David Martens told 3krtv that even though they lost customers due to the lack of snow in the past, he’s hopeful they’ll bounce back.

“We lost two years and lost our instructors, so we’re just starting to rebuild up,” he said. “For a small community like Havre to have a ski area is incredible and to be in this beautiful spot. You know, it’s probably the most beautiful spot in Eastern Montana is out here by the ski area.”

Bear Paw Ski Bowl is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. depending on the weather.
