A team of North Korean cheerleaders performing a cheerful choreography to support the Unified Korean hockey team against Japan yesterday (February 14).

The Korean women’s ice hockey team lost 4-1 against their biggest Asian rival in their final preliminary round game.

Female hockey players from North and South Korea joined forces in a symbolic move at the Winter Olympics 2018 to form a unified team.

Despite the state of high political tension between South and North Korea, the two nations were able to come together in the sporting arena.

A few nights back on February 10th, over 100 member North Korean cheerleading squad, women all dressed in red jackets and white winter hats, began to chant in Korean. Every time the team from Switzerland scored a gole the squad would chant “Cheer up!”. And it worked! Just kidding…. The Korean team lost 8-0 to Switzerland.
