The LA Times is reporting that the CEO of surf and water sports brand Quiksilver, Pierre Agnes is missing. His boat was found on Tuesday beached along the southwest coastline of France and a search effort is currently underway.
In addition to Quiksilver, Agnes also oversees other action sports brands such as Roxy, DC Shoes, and Boardriders. An avid waterman & sailor, he was last reported to have gone out fishing. According to one source, he had alerted authorities that fog was slowing his return to shore. The area in which he went missing is known for sometimes having large waves that can prove perilous.
