Congratulations to Travis Pastrana for landing this 23-meter (75-ft) gap between two barges on the river Thames in London, England. Reuters reports Travis only had 150 feet to accelerate to takeoff speed before jumping, with only 36 feet to come to a stop before he would have fallen into the river.
Back in 2006, Mike Metzger fractured a vertebrae while attempting a similar backflip jump between two barges in Long Beach harbor, Los Angeles. Organizers of the event say Travis is first person to try to perform the trick since then.
The stunt was organized to promote Pastrana’s Nitro Circus which will be in Europe in November and December. The tour is named “You Got This” and its vintage Nitro Circus mayhem:
