Crested Butte resident, Lawson Yow, thinks the bear broke into his Honda Element sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning. KDV.com reports Yow parks on an incline and speculates the car door closed after the bear got in, trapping the animal inside.
“He was trapped and scared and freaked out in there for an hour.”
Yow was at work as a bartender and called the police once he discovered the trapped animal. When police arrived, they really couldn’t do anything. The bear absolutely shredded the interior of the vehicle before managing to break one of the windows to get out.
