Paradise Cove has drawn some concern from authorities after a video of a 20 year old woman injuring herself on a 83ft belly flop went full viral. The jumper suffered severe nerve damage in her right leg and needs crutches for her left, which is actually remarkable given the height and angle of impact.

With dozens of injuries reported a year at  Paradise Cove, The Bureau of Land Management plans on instituting an admission fee that would increase patrols and prohibit drinking in hopes of making the area safer.

Currently Paradise Cove continues to have unrestricted access but we really want to drill this home: There is no room for error here. The landing zone is small and with a max depth of ten feet. The woman in the video is extraordinarily lucky not to have been more seriously injured. Please enjoy the spot and all cliff jumping spots responsibly. Only cliff jump in places where the depth is confirmed and at height you are confident you can land safely from.
