A massive forest fire is burning near the Utah ski area of Brian Head. Fire crews are struggling to contain the blaze that broke out at 12.20pm local time on Saturday north east of Brian Head.

Around 750 residents and visitors to Brian Head were moved out of the town after the blaze spread across 350 acres in just a few hours on Saturday afternoon.

As of 5 p.m. on Sunday, are no reports of injuries but police say one home is destroyed and three others are damaged. The fire has already affecting nearly 1,000 acres.

Officials say the outbreak was “human-caused” and remains under investigation.

Brian Head ski area has eight lifts and is popular with families.

It is in the Dixie National Forest and is three hours’ drive from Las Vegas and four from Salt Lake City.
