As reported last week, the big island of Hawaii experienced a significant snow storm above 11,000ft.  Some locals took advantage of the unusual event and even built a road gap kicker.

As bizarre as snow in Hawaii sounds, it happens every year and the island actually has it’s very own ski club. They mostly travel off island to ski but take full advantage when the weather allows for some turns at home. Here’s a trail map of Mauna Kea from their website:mauna kea trail map
