Vail Resorts announced today that they will be acquiring the largest ski area in North America, Whistler Blackcomb. It’s big news for the ski world, but how will it affect the Epic Pass ($809 USD), Whistler Blackcomb Season Pass ($1,269 USD) and the Mountain Collective Pass ($369+ USD)?

According to Vail Resorts’ press release, Whistler Blackcomb will not be included on the Epic Pass till the 2017 – 2018 ski season. Whistler Blackcomb season pass will also go unchanged and will not allow you access to any of the other Vail Resorts till the 2017-2018 season.Whistler Blackcomb will remaine on the Mountain Collective Pass giving you two days of skiing at Whistler Blackcomb.

About the Epic Pass

Vail Resort’s Epic Pass is the largest Multi-Resort pass in North America. The pass allows you unlimited skiing at 13 mountains with no blackout dates. Starting in 2017 the pass will also be good at Perisher in Australia allowing you to ski year round on one pass for just $809 USD.Included in the pass is also 6 buddy passes to bring someone along with.
