French jet ski champion and the inventor of the Flyboard, Franky Zapata, set a new record for hoverboard flight distance by going 7,388 feet, smashing the previous record of 905 feet.

The 37 year old Frenchman set the record yesterday at Sausset-les-Pins near Marseille.  He rose to about 50 feet before setting off on his record setting flight.  His team has been working on this project for over 5 years and were elated with the results.

Congratulations to Franky. Can’t wait until his hoverboards come to market.
