Getting rad in national parks is a time honored tradition as evidenced in this 1977 footage from Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California. The footage may be grainy but its thrilling, especially taking into account the old school gear they were relying on.

“Filmed by Carl Boenish, pilot / skydiver Rich Piccirilli, together with Jim Hanbury and Brian Johnson, launch a family-sized hang glider off the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. In mid-flight both Hanbury and Johnson release themselves and free-fall from the kite, form a brief 2-way – then skydive into the valley below. This extraordinary short film has never before been publicly-broadcast…until now.”
