From 1996-2006, Michael Schumacher raced in Ferrari’s F-1 cars. Yet since his accident, his former team has stayed largely out of the spotlight concerning the ski accident in Meribel, France that left the formula one champ in a medically induced coma. Luca di Montezemolo, the former chairman of Ferrari broke that silence yesterday, telling reporters, “I have news and unfortunately it is not good” reports the Daily Mail. Montezemolo left the comment there without elaborating further except to say that, “Life is strange. He was a fantastic driver and only had one accident with Ferrari in 1999.”

Since that fateful day, limited reports have indicated that the rehabilitation process has been a slow one for Schumacher. The Formula-1 champion has since been undergoing treatment at a “purpose-built” medical facility in his Lake Geneva home but details have been scarce. Still, many medical professionals have expressed skepticism at the possibility of any sort of substantial recovery.
